Volunteering

Volunteering with YOU is fantastically rewarding and you can help to make a real difference to people’s lives. You can gain great experience that looks good on your CV, learn new skills, and work with our friendly, supportive teams.

Volunteering will give you that “feel good” factor as you help people build a better quality of life. You will have a sense of personal achievement as a direct result of your volunteering work.
Although volunteering can be very flexible, we do ask for you to be committed and reliable, which is really important if, for example, you are befriending our service users.

You will be volunteering with some amazing people with opportunities to work within any of our services. These include: Homelessness, Disabilities, Mental Health, Women’s Refuge, Domestic Violence and Young People services.

There are many ways you can help our clients. Just a few of the opportunities are listed below:

  • Befriending and buddying
  • Providing music or arts and crafts classes
  • Host a pampering session
  • Help with shopping or gardening services
  • IT volunteering
  • Help people build confidence
  • Or tell us your ideas and we will see if they could work

Volunteering is real work. You can expect to be treated as a professional and your expenses, such as travel costs, will be repaid. We will offer a full induction into your role. Being a volunteer doesn’t affect any benefits you may be claiming.
